The house is surrounded by pretty gardens and a wildflower meadow so we are surrounded by a haven of wildlife from barn owl to swifts and yellow hammers.There is an abundance of insect life. Dragon flies dance by the ponds and the lavender buzzes with bees.

At breakfast we serve home made bread, our own eggs and locally sourced food. We are happy to do very early breakfasts for those who want an early start and will happily prepare packed lunches and delicious evening meals. If you want a birdwatching tour this can be arranged. Fox Cottage is situated in the small Suffolk hamlet of St Cross South Elmham and was, until 1962, the village pub: The Fox and Hounds.

Foxhole consists of a spacious double bedroom with an en suite shower room and toilet. It has its own front door so you can come and go as you please. There is a woodburning stove and outside deck: a perfect place to stay whatever the season.

We offer a full and varying breakfast menu which, according to season and availability, may include kippers, smoked haddock, kedgeree, porridge with clotted cream, fresh fruit compôtes and yoghurts as well as the more usual “full English”.
