Founded in 1995, now with well over 100 members, to study
the Erewash Valley area (approx 4½ x 1½ miles) on
the Derby / Notts border. 24 Butterfly and 16 Dragonfly species
recorded from this small area. Bird highlights have included
Sabines Gull, Grey Phalarope, Spotted Crake and Spoonbill.

Carsington Reservoir is a man-made reservoir of over 600 acres and an important birding site for the East Midlands, with over 210 species of birds recorded each year.
The Carsington Bird Club has a varied indoor and outdoor programme of event and also joins forces with the RSPB and Severn Trent Water on the RSPB "Aren't Birds Brilliant" days.
