The club exists to promote interest in birds, and to encourage conservation for all wildlife in the Greater Preston area. The society has been in existence since 1876, and was formerly known as the Preston Scientific Society. There are 20 or more lectures each winter, and visitors are welcomed on an ad hoc basis.
