Based in the mid Wales market town of Machynlleth, the hills, valleys, rivers, lakes and coasts within driving distance, provide a wide variety of habitats for birds and other wildlife.

Birds which may be seen include: Red Kite, Buzzard, Peregrine, Osprey, Goshawk, Hen Harrier, Merlin, Pied Flycatcher, Wood Warbler, Crossbill, Dipper, Kingfisher, Nightjar, Ring Ouzel, Red Grouse, Chough, Gannet, Manx Shearwater, Razorbill, Guillemot, Shag, waders and wildfowl to name but a few! Mammals are well represented too with Bottlenose Dolphin, Harbour porpoise, Atlantic Grey Seal, Badger, Fox, Stoat, Polecat, Weasel and Brown Hare.

Travelling in our Landrover Defender we are able to access superb sites and enjoy at first hand, the unspoilt habitats, wildlife and culture of Islay. Special birds include Chough, Golden Eagle, Merlin, Peregrine, all three Divers, huge numbers of geese and wildfowl in winter, skuas and auks - and we regularly find and see rarities, eapecially during migration periods.

We are members of the Disabled Birding Association and are able to cater for those with limited mobility since our vehicles have access to the reserves.

He began life in Suffolk but moved to Norfolk at the age of thirteen, where he has birded regularly for 20 years.
